We are not omnipotent
"But Jesus looked at them and said to them, 'With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.' ”
2 - Reflect
We tend to fall into the habit of believing ourselves omnipotent and invincible. When that is put to the test we receive a blow that can be very hard to face. The reality is that we all have weaknesses, we can fail our expectations and choose the wrong paths. We can lose our assets, lose friendships, or face serious problems. We should not think of ourselves as unbeatable, but consider ourselves vulnerable and sometimes even helpless. We think that showing no fear or weakness makes us indomitable, but that is wrong. We all spend moments of anguish and uncertainty where we need to be with someone, either our brethren or our Almighty God.
Our greatness will not be measured in the belongings we have, in how sage we believe we are, or in the bravery we display. On the contrary, it will be determined by how sincere we are when we open our hearts and let ourselves be guided by our Heavenly Father. Trust Him to prepare us to ask for His shelter and His advice so we may find the peace and harmony we need in conflicting situations. Trying to fight our "battles" on our own will often lead to negative results. We must trust that Our Father will choose the best paths for us to traverse, He will protect us, and we will be cared for by Him when we need it most.
